Logotherapy

"Ultimately, man should not ask what the meaning of his life is, but rather he must recognize that it is he who is asked. In a word, each man is questioned by life; and he can only answer to life by answering for his own life; to life he can only respond by being responsible." ~ Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, p. 131

Logotherapy is an unwaveringly realistic and positive orientation toward life and toward personal and collective human destiny. According to Dr. Viktor Frankl, no moment in life is devoid of meaning. The innate will to meaning eternally calls man to aspire toward the highest conscious values in every given circumstance. Logotherapy is a celebration of the divine spirit of man. Logotherapy is an affirmation of the  transcendent as the call to authenticity resounding deep within human conscience.

Logotherapy (in Greek “logos”= meaning), considered to be the third Viennese School of Psychotherapy, was developed by neurologist and psychiatrist Dr. Viktor E. Frankl.

“Logotherapy is the most positive of all therapies for the reason that it addresses the negative and tragic issues of life not as lamentable afflictions we are all doomed to suffer, but as tasks we are challenged to embrace, that is, to overcome in a spiritually mature and victorious way.  In fact, the commission of our lives is to overcome evil with good.” (Dr. Teria Shantall)

The foundation of logotherapy is the belief that striving to find a meaning in one’s life is the principle motivating and driving force in humans. In Frankl’s most celebrated book, “Man’s Search for Meaning”, he summarizes how his theories helped him to survive the Nazi death camp, Auschwitz, and how his post holocaust life-experiences further strengthened his convictions:

  1. Life is unconditionally meaningful.

  2. We are motivated to live, primarily by our will to find meaning in life.

  3. We are free to find meaning in our actions, our, experiences and in our attitudes towards unchangeable suffering.

My orientation in Logotherapy:

My focus is on what is well in the client in order to evoke their essential will to meaning whence healing and integration flow. I enjoy evoking, along with the client, the divine capacity of their human spirit, not only towards life-affirming psychological well-being and purpose, but toward physical health and coherence as well.

Logotherapy is a therapy which focuses on the human will or human spirit in a non-religious manner.  I will be weaving approaches from my Healing practice into my logotherapeutic work.  I shall call the synthesis Logotherapeutic Healing. It is my hope that you, my dear readers, will feel at home here for I will be speaking to all, evoking the universal voice of the transcendent as it applies to each and every precious soul. We are all in this wondrous quest for meaning together.

May you discover your meaningful life, Haya

“ Haya’s sensitivity to the emotional and energetic state of the other person is phenomenal. She listens deeply to the emotions and spirit of the other person and knows how to see and hear their strengths and life meanings coming through, getting to the essence of their being.

Haya does this not as a dispassionate observer. – She possesses the superb ability to use her own inner self-resonance in this process. Her comments in reflecting on what has been expressed by someone reveal a keen ability to step into the world of the other to feel what it is like to be there, and to then step back again to highlight it for them and bring them back to themselves.

I recommend Haya’s integrative healing and counseling for anyone who seeks growth and healing from a place of deep sensitivity, a compassionate touch and genuine unconditional love.”
